NEON, Norwalk Economic Opportunity Now, the Community Action Agency that has served the Greater Norwalk area since 1965 is one of eleven Community Action Agencies designated by the State of Connecticut to provide community development and emergency assistance services to economically disadvantaged persons.
NEON and her sister organization CTE, the Committee on Training and Employment in Stamford merged into one agency on September 29th, 2012 combining their staff and program services to serve low income communities in lower Fairfield County.
NEON Mission Statement:
NEON’s mission is to provide economically disadvantaged residents of the greater Norwalk and Stamford area with the range of community, social, and economic development and emergency assistance services needed to enhance the quality of life, increase self-sufficiency, and reduce the incidence of poverty.
The People We Serve
NEON serves low income residents who reside in the following cities and towns.
- Greater Stamford Area: Stamford, Greenwich and Darien
- Greater Norwalk Area: Norwalk, New Canaan, Weston, Westport, and Wilton.
