NEON’s Ben Franklin Center is also home to our Workforce Development Center. We provide low-income and economically vulnerable families with a variety of different social and instructional programs. The center is open to the general low-income population for job search and resume development assistance (at no cost)—and many of Norwalk’s economically vulnerable residents come simply for advice, information, and advocacy.
Additionally, we provide client services for energy assistance, eviction prevention, food stamps and other activities that are also available at other NEON sites. This is consistent with our new way of doing business, which affords individuals to come through any of our doors and obtain whatever services that they need.
A few of our other services offered at the site include:
Computer training and instruction, Career Resources, Inc./SW CTWorks One Stop, TFA Case Management, Career Resources, Inc. Career Resources is also our Region’s One Stop operator.
Single Room Occupancy Facility (SRO)
NEON operates a 24 bed Single Room Occupancy facility. Adult residents would more than likely otherwise be homeless without this residence that provides individual rooms for low income individuals. Case management services are provided, as well as a home cooked hot meal six days a week.
Mary Mann is the contact person for this service and can be reached at 203-663-7421, or email: mmann@neon-norwalk.org.
